The Cape Leveque Road is a public road. However, you will be passing through Native Title Land and private land leases. It passes through the Beagle Bay, Djarindjin and Ardyaloon Aboriginal reserves. These reserves are protected under part III of the Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority Act 1972 and entry permits are required.
The entry road into Beagle Bay Community is a public road. People may travel through these reserves to other destinations if they have permission (or a booking) but should not turn on to any side roads or other property.
Please always observe road signs and stay out of prohibited areas. There are a number of significant sites on the peninsula, and fines apply to anyone who disregards signs.
CAMPING ON OUTSTATIONS & SMALL COMMUNITIES
Many families welcome visitors to camp on their outstation. Camping fees range usually from $15 - $20 per person. Always book ahead to ensure they are expecting you and never camp anywhere on the Peninsula without permission, it is Aboriginal land and hefty fines apply. If you are going camping on outstations, be fully prepared. Check with your host to find out what you need to bring and ask if they have power or fresh water available in their camping area.

Emergencies and First Aid
RFDS referrals are required to see the clinic nurses first. Clinics are located at Beagle Bay, Ardyaloon and Lombadina. If you are likely to require air lifting, take note of your nearest airstrip. Except in extreme emergencies, Ardyaloon, Lombadina and Beagle Bay are the only suitable airstrips for the RFDS to land.
Prepare for extreme weather, emergencies and breakdowns. Plan ahead and make sure your vehicle is in good condition. Always carry a first aid kit, at least one spare tyre, plenty of food and water and make sure someone is expecting you. Drive according to road conditions and leave yourself plenty of time to get to your destination. Only drive on designated roads. Be sun smart and protect yourself from bites and stings.
Visiting Communities & Outstations
Always book ahead no and check with your hosts if there are any permit requirements for the places you intend to visit.
Most communities welcome visitors on certain days of the week (usually Monday to Friday), though will sometimes close to visitors on weekends, and at other times for cultural ceremonies or funerals.
